What’s involved in a first clean?
Your first clean is a little different from your regular window cleans. Rather than simply maintaining already clean windows, we need to bring your windows, frames and sills up to our usual standard before we start your regular cleaning cycle.
We’ll take extra time to remove built-up dirt, dust, cobwebs, algae, moss, bird mess and other grime from the glass, frames and sills. Depending on the condition of your windows, there may also be areas of stubborn dirt or limescale that require additional attention.
Why is the first clean more expensive?
A first clean takes considerably longer than a regular maintenance clean because we are dealing with a build-up of dirt that has accumulated over time. It’s not unusual for a first clean to take 1–2 hours on an average 3-bedroom home, whereas a regular maintenance clean may only take around 15–20 minutes.
Once your windows have been brought up to our standard, subsequent cleans are much quicker because we're maintaining them rather than tackling months or years of built-up dirt.
For this reason, our first clean is usually priced at around 1.5 times the regular clean price, although this can vary depending on the size and condition of the property.
We’ll always let you know the price before carrying out the work, so there are no surprises.
